Thyroid and Excercise

So due to my marathon training last year they discovered what had been bugging me all along as my thyroid, parathyroid, and testosterone. I am thankful for that as it was very frustrating to do so much running and log my food and see little to no results. So I have tried slow carb, primal, and gluten free and although I feel better on gluten free no major changes to my thyroid activity.

So here is my problem, if I exercise whether it be weightlifting or cardio I will not lost any weight. Doesn't matter if I eat back the calories or don't. I test my bodyfat and it isn't a matter of muscle replacing fat. My clothes fit better, people have noticed but the scale isn't budging. Where the hell is it all going?

The kicker, if I don't exercise and just diet than I will lose weight.

I love running, bike commuting, weightlifting, and tai chi.....I don't want to give any of it up. Just curious if anyone else is experiencing this.

Trying to accept this and focus on feeling better.....but it is frustrating.

Ditto... ditto... ditto -- the more I exercise, the more stalled I get. According to my Naturopath it is because of Reverse T3.
See my post on that: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/464454-reverse-t3

If you have good thyroid levels, it could also be your adrenals -- especially Cortisol. Some of these hormones could be working against you -- they think you are under life-or-death stress and are trying to protect you. Insulin Resistance falls into that category.

There's a ton of information about Adrenals and Reverse T3 on www.stopthethyroidmadness.com

I've actually had to back off of all strenuous/intense exercise until we can get the RT3 flushed out and get my adrenals the support.
    It can take 12-16 weeks.
