Flaxseed

Just added ground flaxseed (2 tbls) to my oatmeal this morning but didn't really care for the taste. Is anyone else taking flaxseed as a supplement? Do you notice any benefits?

    I use it on my oatmeal also. I grind mine daily - I only find it has a nutty taste. It is good if you have cholesterol problems or stubborn bowels (my issue). You have to take it for some time before it actually helps (a month at least). The doctor I worked for swore by it - that's when I started using it!

    I take flax seed oil in a morning smoothie...I do not notice the taste because I load it with vanilla extract as well. Do I notice anything...not really, I just do as my sister (the nutritionist) says:)

    you must keep the seeds in an airtight container,,,freezer even.
    Using the oil in smoothies makes the drink some much smoother.

    I noticed that my hair and skin looked better...

    Thanks all! I'm using the flaxseed meal and keep the bag sealed in the freezer. I'm going to try it in yogurt today.
