Losing muscles

I have been exercising and dieting for six months now and have lost 80 lbs. However, now I find that I cannot lift as much weight as I did last week and the week before and get tired more easily. I have started taking whey protein in the last week with milk in an effort to build muscle. Does anybody have any advice? By the way, I started at 255 lbs, at 5'9", very obese and am now at 175, a good weight. I eat about 1200 to 1500 calories a day and exercise about 2 hours every day at the gym. A lot of health issues, specially diabetes and heart bypass surgery. Also this year, I turned 60 so am not a spring chicken. Any advice would be helpful.
