Best workouts for legs?

I would post this on the general forum, but they have been crazy lately! The part I hate most about my body is my legs. They are just big. My inner thighs all ways touch. I would love to be able to wear shorts at some point. Does anyone have any tips on toning legs? I have lost 7 lbs so far, and its all at the top of my body. I need something to kick start the lower half. Any help would be appreciated.

    You can't spot-reduce, yet there are exercises that can build up your leg muscles and reshape them. Are you lifting heavy (for you) yet? If not- I can't recommend it enough. Try squats, lunges and other compound moves - take time to learn to do them right otherwise they don't work and you could injure yourself.

    Yes Gemiwing is so correct. Strength training is the way to reshape the body which in turns helps the legs:-) A book to get into it is New Rules of Lifting Weights for Women.
