I'm starting tomorrow....what weights should I plan on using? With 30DS I was using 3 lbs. - 5 lbs. When I normally lift, regular routines, etc., I lift heavier - 15-40 lbs. dumbbells for various exercises.

I did workout 1 and 2 last week just to try it out. In Workout 1, I used mostly 5s and could have gone heavier. In workout 2, I used 8's and 10s. I've also been working out with weights, so I would say, try your first workout with 5s and make mental notes of when you can go heavier the next time.

Wow you guys have muscles! I started with 2.5's and just moved up to 5lbs and it is difficult on a few exercises. I don't lift weights though and am very upper body weak. WTG though! I hope to get up there one day!

I only have 5's, but could definitely have used 3's at the beginning for a couple of exercises. In workout 6 she tells us to use the lighter weights a couple of times, and your heaviest weights a couple of times, so I think you should ideally have 3 / 5 / 10 sizes.

For what it's worth, I wound up using 3, 5, and 8 pounds. I could have used 10's or 12's on things like the chest flyes, but I kept it lighter this time around anyway. It's high reps and in circuits so I'll definitely be lifting less than if I was doing straight sets.

On workout 5 and 6, Jillian specifically tells you which weights to use for each move: light (3 lbs), medium (5lbs), heavy (8lbs)... however, I think there are people using a little heavier and I think I'm gonna bump my light to 5lb, medium to 8, and heavy to 10. We'll see if I can do that... however, I know she tells you to use medium weights for weighted supermans and I was struggling using my 3lbs....
