Kettle bells

Does anyone here use a kettle bell for their strength training?
I'm thinking of getting one to use at home, as the weights section of my gym is a little intimidating for a beginner.
Is it something that is easy to get started with by yourself (eg: using a DVD) or should I not attempt this on my own?

I use kettlebells all the time! They are great and as you progress from the basics can be a very challenging routine or a great warmup. Feel free to message me or ask me questions. You can do on your own for basics (google some kettlebell workouts and you'll see form advice on youtube), but do be careful trying some of the more advanced positions! You can get easily bruised as I found out the hard way. Lots of fun and great total body workout overall though! Definitely recommend.0

Thanks!
I think I'll get one (I've read 8kg could be a good weight to start at?) and see how it goes! I have a full length mirror to keep an eye on my form, so I'm hoping I won't hurt myself!0 -
I started at 5 and 10 pounds, then went to 15 and onwards as I built confidence with my form. The most important thing in the very beginning is getting your form correct, so a light weight is a good idea to start! If you have any questions along the way, just give me a holler and enjoy! Lots of fun.0

I use 8kg for the kettle bell swings, but I use 4kg for other exercises like shoulder press, bicep curls and tricep extensions. I also use them when doing ab exercises0
