30 day Strict results...

So I have spent the past 2 years steadily cleaning up my diet and incorporating exercise...
In November I did a 30 day whole food cleanse under the guidence of a nutrionist...after that I left some stuff out of my diet but still allowed other stuff back in - I was eating clean with a slant towards Primal.
Through my CF last month they were doing a 30 day strict so i jumped in ...I figured being part of a group with a leader would make me better adhere and think twice about "cheating"
So it ended this weekend...the only thing I "cheated" with was 2 skinny cinnimon dolce lattes from starbucks...that is it for the whole 30 days....nothing else...
Since I was already eating clean and watching food intake I didn't expect huge losses but rather wanted to use it as a springboard to fully get myself to a primarily Paleo lifestyle...
So at the end of the 30 days the results are 5.5 inches lost and a body fat loss of 3.42% bringing me from 30.04% to 26.62% (another reason why typical BMI calculators suck...according to the BMI ones is calculates out my BMI to 31.2%) - it is possible I could have an even greater body fat % loss because my home scale showed 5 lbs lost while the stupid scale in the gym showed only 3.5 - and we had to use the number on the gym scale... Also we were using calipers which aren't the most accurate - but at least gives a general idea...
So at the end of eating 30 days strict....where to go from now...I am definately continuing this lifestyle - I find it easy to do - yes it does take a little bit of planning but overall fairly easily doable...
I got to a point about 2 weeks ago when the next size down fit me nice so I switched from wearing too large baggy pants and shirts to pants that fit and more streamlined shirts - oh the compliments I got and everyone wanted to know what I was doing - my response - diet and exercise...when asked about my diet I said I simply cut out certain food groups (didn't even go to the Paleo route) I said I cut out pastas, breads, grains, sugars....and left it at that...granted a lot of people were all like "Oh I could never give up bread, pasta, etc..."
I think from this point on I am going to consider myself eating primal with a paleo slant....bring back some butter (grassfed - have a great farmers market I can get fresh made butter there) and some cheese (same market has a fantasic goat cheese) and allow myself some cream in my coffee from time to time (I have been using light coconut milk from the can) - occasionally I expect to give into the lure of the "forbidden" - i.e. the 2 times a year i go to the real movie theater I am having some popcorn...if it's bagel day at work (about every 6-8 weeks) i'll indulge in a bagel and cream cheese (but only a half of one and not one and a half like BP (before Paleo)) - but for the most part...
My SIL invited us to her house for Easter and asked us to bring a ham...definately doable...I told my husband I will plan on making a Paleo friendly desert too (maybe some sweet potato or zucchini brownies) ...that way I can have a nice sweet treat

Yay that is super great....I'm hoping I can stick this process out for at least 30 days....I have to try and do strict because with me all at once is better than a little at a time! If not I'll do the best I can!0

Great results! I also started out as a "clean eater", then discovered Primal and I am loving it. I don't even miss bread and pastas like I thought I would! I just have to keep myself on the straight and narrow and maybe I'll have great results like you! Congrats!0
