Well it finally happened yesterday - I scored a perfect on the advanced stepping!!! It only took me 368 attempts. LOL Anyone else ever get every step to ding a "perfect"? I was to the point where I didn't think it would ever happen - I had come very close many times but always got an OK or a step that did not register. Turns out I did it when I was totally distracted and wasn't hardly even watching the Miis....just going with the music and thinking about something else entirely.....figures.

Congratulations!! That is quite a feat, especially if your machine is like mine and occasional calls missed steps even when you're not on the bloody board!

Is 'Advanced Step' part of the Wii Fit Plus program? The reason I ask is that I use Wii Fit Plus and the step program is called 'Step Plus' here (it goes for five minutes with various step moves and clapping).

Same program - I'll have to recheck the name of it. 5 minutes, 336 steps in total - starts out slow and then increases speed somewhere around the middle. As I am losing pounds it keeps giving me fewer calories so I have to do it more times. Oh well, I guess that is the prize or losing weight. Probably take me another 400 tries to get another perfect....LOL

well I wouldn't know about the calorie hold back yet!!
With all its faults I do really like that program though - the five minutes flies by.
The past couple of days I have been using the free step too, for ten minutes, it doesn't have the entertainment value of the Step Plus but I like to step so its good.
I haven't come across any other step programs which is a shame.

I would love more step programs also! I checked and mine is definately called "Advanced Step". Odd that it has different names.... For the free step I either watch TV or put my head phones on and listen to music (I do music for the Island Lap also). While free stepping, every time my left foot is on the board I raise a 5 lb. dumbbell over my head, alternating arms. I started with 3 lbs and have worked up (LOL). I then add as many minutes as I do this to my daily exercise chart as a 3 met exercise - adds a little to the work out. Just have to share this - I made he 30 pounds gone mark this morning - WOOHOO!!!

Bravo! 30lb That's a lot of work - all power to you!

I'm thinking of using weights but I have to work up to it. Last year (or the year before, can't remember) when I was using the wii regularly and somewhat fitter, I used the wii added step stand but I can't lift my leg that high due to pain at the moment but it was good when I could.
I tired just using bricks and a plank but there wasn't enough give to make it safe or comfortable to use.

Its the same with some books and movies, they use different names in different countries, though why they would do that for a part of a program that has the same name - wii fit plus, beats me.

Thanks. You are right that it has taken a lot of work and I know that there is a lot of work left to go - but I don't know the last time that I weighed this little (even if it is still a lot - LOL). I can certainly relate to pain when lifting a leg - I started exercising again on January 10 after living through almost 10 months of recuperating and healing after breaking my left leg/ankle in 3 places on April 7, 2011. It is amazing to me just how much weight you can gain when you are basically immobile for that length of time. I never did weight training in the past - only cardio. Now that I have started it I feel like the "10 pound weakling" but am also starting to see some interesting changes in my muscle structure and everything I read says that it is important in the long run.....but it took me over 2 months to work up to even think about starting it.

Couldn't work out why it wouldn't let me answer this until I realised it was a different Wii group and I wasn't a member, lol
I have never got all perfect. You're a machine Doug.
I do find mine doesn't always register when I step on or off though, not sure why.
I can't imagine ever getting all perfects and I am even more amazed you have counted the steps. I just count in eights and repeat. I guess that's a hangover from my dancing days. That is so funny.
    Well done.

Thanks. I didn't actually count the steps - I used the scoring to tell me how many there were - but you are right, I count a lot of things. When I was trying to keep track of daily steps I actually counted the steps in a half mile - LOL, too many - I lost track in the first half mile almost at the end so had to do it all over again.....I don't track steps anymore. Must be my a*** retentive personality! I have come within 2 steps of perfect on 5 different occassions. My board also skips steps sometimes which I have just gotten myself to ignore.
