i am trying so hard to find an excersize routine that i can stick to on a daily basis.

i work 7p-7a 3 nights a week, have an hour drive to and from work, then get to sleep 4 -5 hours before having to be up and spend time with my 18 month old. by the time i get home i can barely keep my eyes open, let alone even think about working out. once i am up it is hard to workout because my dtr is always underfoot and right now the stroller we have is horrible for running with and cant afford a jogger.

every third week i have 7 days off and during this time i do great at working out just about every day, but when it is time to go back to work (3 on 1 off 3 on) i get off track and find it soooo hard to even get motivated to work out again. so then when the week off come again i have to start over from square one in getting myself in a routine and on the right track. so i never get to the point where i feel like i can progress to the next level of the workout

i have done turbo jam, 30 day shred, eliptical,.... i do really good for about a week then i get off track

how do you stay on track????

I have the same problem. I am so tired by the time I come home from work and then when I get up I have to be to work in a few hours but have so much at home to get done before work. I have no equipment at home to use (wish i did), so I pretty much walk for my exercise. If anyone has suggestions as to how to incorporate more exercise into my weekly routine let me know. :) I work 3x a week and I do try to walk on my days off.

Do you live in a neighborhood you can walk in? That's at least walking.. Or jog if you can! Just a thought.

I HAVE to stop at the gym on the way home from work. If I don't I usually won't get a workout in. Sometimes I'll even change into my workout clothes before I leave work. When I get there I get going for ten minutes. After ten minutes if I'm still tired/hurting I'll go home, it's not worth it. But by ten minutes endorphins usually kick in and I'm good. It helps keep you on a schedule too.

youtube and hulu have some awesome workout videos! or if you search for some bodyweight exercises. Planks, pushups, situps, burpees(squat thrusts), squats, jumping jacks. Also, if you start following some fitness boards on pinterest, theres a bunch of them that give you exercises without equipment

I usually try to hit the gym when I'm not doing back to backs. I stop at the gym on my way home if possible (I'm lucky, it's attached to our hospital) and I do aqua jogging and exercises in the water. I used to stop in the hot tub after, but I kept falling asleep! Hardest part is keeping motivated with such an uneven schedule. I thought about getting a home treadmill or something, but I don't think I'd be as dedicated or push myself...plus the water has helped me tremendously because I don't want to kill my knees. Have lost a total of 62lbs so far (found mfp after I had already started losing.)

I have this problem as well, I work 1030pm to 630am, my should be hubby (been together 10 years engaged 3 but still aren't married, lol) works various shifts (anywhere from 630am to 11pm). I have a 4yo and an 8mo (who is still breastfeeding). By the time I get home, my daughter is up and wants to eat, so I will feed her. If the hubby is working, then I will get to sleep for about an hour (till 830) when my son wakes up (and he usually ends up waking up my daughter too).

Then it is breakfast for my son, getting the kids dressed, daughter will want to eat again then usually take a 20-30 minute nap. That will give me time to clean up the house/throw in laundry/get something to eat if I am hungry. By then it is about 11am, then I entertain the kids for a while (my daughter is going through a very clingy phase, so she doesn't like being put down for very long right now). Usually try and start lunch about 12, its about 1 by the time I get both kids and myself fed and cleaned up. If I am lucky I can get my daughter to lay down and we can both sleep for about 2 hours (and my son gets his movie/computer/leap pad time) we get up about 330 and have some play time, feed my daughter again and wait for the hubby to get home so I can sleep some more. (and if the hubby works in the afternoon, then I sleep in the morning and the day still procedes about the same)

I try and squeeze in walks as much as I can when it is nice enough, but it is hard to be consistant! I think if I could have a set time each day I would be so much better with excercising...I have almost reached my weight loss goal, and would like to get toned up when I do, I just hope I can find the time to do it!!!
