Yesterday was my first day (Burn circuit 1) and I'm feeling it now, which I like. Today is supposedly a rest day, but since I'm so far away from my goal weight, would it hurt to do some cardio? I was thinking just TJ Cardio Party so I can be suitably shocked by Burn Intervals in a couple of days lol

No, cardio won't hurt. Just don't wear yourself out and get plenty of rest. :) Your muscles are rebuilding.
  • Thanks for the response. I did it, glad I did, and didn't wear myself out too much. I wonder if I'll still be trading my rest day for cardio the further I get...

I haven't received my CLX yet (it is suppose to come tomorrow) but that is what I plan to do. I don't plan to have a rest day expect once a week. I still have plenty of weight that I need to lose while gaining muscle. :)

I'm about to buy Chalean Extreme (found a good deal second-hand), very excited and slightly nervous! LOL This past November I started doing Jillian Michaels workouts, right now I'm finishing up Ripped in 30 and I've heard so much about people getting great results from CLX that I jumped on it when I found a good deal! But other than results, I really don't know much about it - would anyone care to share some details of the program?

It is a great program. I am finishing month two today and moving onto month three. I have the bowflex select tech adjustable weights, but I know a lot of other people use the normal weights or resistance bands. Just make sure to go as heavy as you can with the amount of reps you need to do. And keep pushing yourself to improve every week. I have lost only 6lbs. so far, but I have changed my shape. Clothes are fitting much better and some are even too big. I didn't take measurements, so I am not sure about the actual inches.
The workouts are not long and she stresses to go slow. I have found that my workouts are actually relaxing because it is the one time of the day when I am not racing around. Let us know how you are doing with it.
Oh, almost forgot, make sure to eat plenty of protein. You will need it to build up the muscle.

I already eat at least 100g protein per day, sometimes it even ends up significantly higher LOL so no problems there. I have 3, 5, 8, 10, and 15 lb weights that I've been using on the various exercises in the Jillian DVDs, was considering buying a larger set or two so I have them available when I feel ready to try them. I'm really close to my goal weight so I'm not looking to drop a lot of lbs, I just want to keep working on my fitness and lowering my bodyfat% for a better and firmer shape. :-)
  • I'm definitely going to have to supplement with protein powder or something to get that protein up.

Also, bowling lunges? Bane of my existence. I kept falling over. I think I did 6 out of 24 :o\

I remember posting the same thing about the bowler's lunges. They also show up in month two, Push. I just actually finished that workout with the bowlers and I realized they are so much easier now. So, I am sure they will get better for you the stronger you get. I am starting Lean, month 3 on Thursday. I have heard it is hard, but I am looking forward to a new workout. I will send you a request so we can keep up.

I started supplementing with protein powder a few weeks ago. I did it just to increase my protein, but now I love them. Chocolate with peanut butter is my favorite. Yum! I also like them with fresh fruit. I could drink one every day but I don't let myself because I don't want to get sick of them.
