With weight loss as the goal, how often should the numbers be recalculated?

I believe I read on one of the posts here to recalculate at every 5 pounds lost. I'll see if I can find where I read that, cause I may be wrong.0

I'm not positive but I think I read every 10 pounds or 1% body fat change. Wish I could find where I read that....0

recalculate whenever weight goes up or down by 5lbs, or whenever age or activity level changes..0

I just realized when a friend pointed out that if I don't do manual calculations and I update any and all changes in MFP, the system will prolly make the appropriate adjustments. What I would really like, is to do the right thing and have my body/metabolism work efficiently. Not too much to ask, right?0
