Ok, I'm going to start CLX on Saturday or Monday, having dh take pictures tomorrow night, I'm already doing Turbo Jam and lifting 8 pounds for biceps, 5 for Triceps, We have 1 set similar to: http://www.walmart.com/ip/CAP-Barbell-40-lb.-Adjustable-Cast-Iron-Dumbbell-Set/17217217 that we've had forever and I set them for 10 pounds, but it looks like you are changing weight according to what you are working on. I probably have up to $50 that I could spend on more weights, I would love the adjustable weights, but really can't spend it, I have the 5 lbs. plates that are not on the interchangle ones, I could always get more bars? I don't know, what other weight would you recommend. Also, should I start at about 10 lbs. for the fitness test?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kristine

hello !
I use the Reebok Adjustable Weights, I bought them at Target, they were like $50 dls each set , so I spent $100 total.
They go from 5lbs to 25lbs and they have been really good !
I started with the band and it was ok. However during the 2nd month I had to had different weights since you feel stronger and you know you could be lifting heavier ...
Good luck and I hope this helps !0 -
I have Weirder adjustable weights that I got from Kmart. They have a set that goes from 2.5lbs to 12.5 lbs on sale right now for $50. They also have the 5-25lbs ones but they are $50 each. I just ordered 2 of the larger size because I've outgrown the 12.5s but it's a nice starter set.0

The biggest thing I have at home right now is 15 lbs, I went to Target today to try and get a set of 20 lbs but sadly they only had ONE dumbbell. Ugh.0

I'd get the 5-25 lb set and then save up for some heavier dumbbells for when you get further along the program.0 -

these are pretty good. I got them locally at Target for about $70. I know you said $50 is your limit but this comes with 2 dumbells instead of one and each goes up to 25lbs.0 -
My regret was not buying adjustable weights. They are expensive but if you can a range up to 25, it will replace most of the weights you will need.
I have 3,5,6.5,8,10,12.5,15 (most I had before the program, bought on sale or were given) I am looking into getting 17.5 or 20 for lower body.0 -
For ChaLEAN Extreme I have bought 5s, 10s, 15s, 20s and 25s. It would have been cheaper to buy adjustable weights. Now I need heavier weights. Le sigh.0

I had 3, 5, 8, 10, and 15 previously. I went out and bought 12, 20, and 25. I'm already using the 20's on some of the lower body exercises, thinking I'm going to have to get bigger weights before the end of the program for lower body. I really should have just bought a good adjustable set.0

I went out and bought 3, 5, 8, 10 and 2lbs wrist weights these were kind of expensive. Then my husband decided to start P90x and he needs much heavier weights so I went to Hibbet sports not sure if they have them where you are. Bought an 80lb adjustable weight set with the bars and plates for $65 so you could then go buy another set of bars and have two sets that can go up to 20lbs or have one set at 15lbs and the other set at 20lbs I am currently using his set has well and using 25lbs for my lower body moves and I am in the Push phase.0
