can my HRM be right?

I've been wearing a heart rate monitor with a Garmin GPS since week 4, day 2.... today I ran week 6 day 2.

It usually gives me calorie burns between 175 and 190. Today I ran a touch further than ever before with my average heart rate in the range of what it usually is and my average pace a minute faster than ever before and the HRM is telling me I burned 152 calories. Can that possibly be right or would you chalk it up to some sort of equipment malfunction? One of my friends (you know who you are!) brought this up in my feed and I thought I'd throw it out for opinions.

What do you think? And is that in the range of what everyone else is burning during the C25K?

No idea what's going on with your HRM. My usual burns are around 220 (I just started W3 and include the warm-up and cool-down). I would see what it says next time. Might be a goof in the monitor, or it might mean you're just getting that much better! Wish I could give you something definite.

I noticed that as I progressed through the weeks doing C25K my calories burned went down slightly. It is because your heart is not working as hard as prior weeks. Your body is getting stronger & building up endurance. I noticed that my HR was 165- 180 in the first few weeks of the program & as I progressed towards the end, my average HR was 155-165 on my 30 min runs.
    I hope this makes sense.

Thanks for the opinions. I'll see what kind of feedback it gives me on my next run for sure. I definitely considered that I may be becoming more efficient and that could explain a smaller burn as well. My average hear rate has been around 148 and on this run it was 140.

I feel kind of weird now lol! I burn around 380 cals when I jog wearing my hrm. My average HR is in the 150's with my highest being around 180-190. Is that odd?
