Dukan-ing it differently!

hello folks :D
Just wondering is anyone else doing Dukan online?? When you do, the Dukan website calculates your 'True Weight'. Once you get to this weight that they have selected then you start consolidation. I started the diet at 95kg/209lbs and Dukan told me my ideal weight was 70.5kgs/155lbs. At first I had no problem with this as it is a low enough weight and a weight I have reached three times before on diets. So I just got on with it and dieted. After two months I knew that I would have reached their target well before the 21st of May so I emailed them and asked about lowering my target weight to 63kgs/140lbs. I weight this 6 years ago so it is not a 'new' low weight for my body. Also as I am 5'4 being 63kgs would just barely bring my BMI into the healthy range. I do not want to be overweight anymore and it seems silly to me that I would stop losing weight now when it is coming off so easily and while I am still overweight!? They replied that my true weight was where I should stop, they said that my body would be reaching an artificial low that I would not be able to sustain if I dropped below 70kgs. So their final word was at 70kgs you must go onto Consolidation.

I hit 70kgs three or four days ago :D woohoo!!! However I still plan on losing weight... I don't mind how slowly it comes off but I will be shifting it. I will follow the consolidation rules but also log everything onto MFP(sticking with the calorie goals MFP sets)... I hope that this combination will allow me to eat healthily, lose a little more weight and complete Dukan. After I got their email I planned on ignoring their instructions and just staying on cruise until I was at a weight I am happy with but I started running a month ago. Now I am training for a 8k section of a marathon so I think I need the extra carbs/nutrition in my diet.

I just want to know has anyone had an similar experience with Dukan?? Tweaking the diet to lose?? Is Dukan unnecessarily rigid??
Katie

Ive not done it on line but followed the book, and found i did not have the energy to run by only having oat bran for my carbs so I've adapted the diet to suit me adding slow release carbs, but keeping them lower than a normal diet

I , too, am on consolidation and am using MFP for calorie and nutrition counts, logging my exercise. I am 4 lbs below TW… I do like the on line coaching. I have not started eating bread, pasta, rice or potatoes yet. I asked the coaches if this was ok, and they told me to add an apple a day to the program. I am not doing any "celebration meals" as I just really am enjoying the better nutrition and if I want to add variety to my diet I do it through vegetables.

I am trying to lose six more pounds, but don't care if it comes off in 12 weeks or a year. I feel better than I have in years. I think the "modifications" I am doing don't take away from the basics of the diet.

I plan to keep up the $1 per week on stabilization coaching for at least one year after consolidation ends… for me that is August 16,2012…
