Im pretty sure that my Mom was treated in the 60's for Graves disease. It would be nice if the storyline had January Jones taking medication to help her thyroid instead of just picturing her as a binging housewife with a benign thyroid tumor.

Yeah, I've not been watching Mad Men at all, but I had a hypothyroid friend on another forum ranting about how angry she was at the show and the fans for treating it lightly.0

I finally watched the episode. I really didn't think they treated it lightly. They were concerned she was going to die...how is that lightly? I think they were focusing on her eating as the reason why she's not losing weight at the end.
SummerSkier - I do think they have an opportunity to bring more insight into thyroid disease and treatments. I suppose we'll see.0
