Whats your favorite stamina building workouts? I've been boxing for a bit and I need to increase my stamina and since the shoes I currently have a really terrible and I cant afford new shoes, I am stuck jumping ropes and climbing stairs.

So, what're your favorite stamina building workouts?

Running can build up one kind of stamina, but it doesn't always translate into fighting. I find that back-to-back sparring matches, with little or no break in between is a great way to build up stamina.

    Insanity! Hands down!

I always do it right before a big test when I need to get through 3-4 hours.

    It's an amazing cardio workout!

I hate skipping rope so, so much.

You can run barefoot, you know. A lot of people run in water socks as well. It takes some getting used to - most shoes prevent your lower leg muscles from properly developing for natural running.

All that said, the thing that really seemed to help me with endurance, especially boxing related, is burpees.
Bob and weave drills helped as well.
Not to mention just blasting 1-2s while circling a heavy bag with a lot of direction changes.

But really, the best way to get good at an activity is to do it.

    Fwoooosh.

Mountain Climbers are a SOB if you're in a lazy mood, or aren't in decent shape. Those are actually part of our testing, and for my yellow belt i had to do 50 of them! My face looked like a stop sign after i was done, but that was almost 15 pounds ago, so next week when i go for my green belt, it should be much easier since i'm working out at home, and doing the exercises we do in class at home as well.
