Hi everyone. New to this group. I have been on MFP faithfully for a month now. I have managed to lose 4 lbs in that month. I feel like it should be more however because I have worked my butt off. But I will live with the 4 lbs lost, since it is technically on target.
I used to be a heavy soda drinker, and snacked on everything that was unhealthy for me, without much thought. So yes, I do feel like my daily eating habits have changed drastically for the better, as well as consuming water daily. I still eat some of the things I want, but track all my calories.
I do cardo and strength both during the week. At least three days of strength and 5 days of cardio.
I just talked to my Dr. today on the phone, since I have to do a follow up with her about some of my meds and a colonoscopy that I was supposed to have done but did not do. I decided not to have it done because for one we can't afford it with all the other bills we have piled up. For another, I changed my diet/eating habits and I already feel much better.
I have only been on synthroid/levothyroxine meds, and I have Hashimoto's.
In February, my TSH was too high, so we lowered the meds. Now it is too low lol. So I will go in for more tests on my T3 and T4, and discuss adding a different medication. She mentioned that she needs to lower my synthroid meds before adding something else? Not sure what that is about. But she mentioned possibly adding cytomel.
At any rate, I am happy that she is discussing doing something different for me, as just the levothyroxine/synthroid has not helped me. I have gradually gained weight through out the years. The only time I felt really good, was when I was pregnant with my last two children. I actually lost weight while pregnant with them. It was so strange.
So I am hoping with all my might, that these changes to come will be for the positive and I can actually start losing weight at a decent rate for the work I put in.
I am 5'5", and weigh 199lbs. Size 18.
I used to weigh 125lbs before my thyroid became a problem, and I was a size 5.
I was happy at that weight, and I had no problems maintaining that.
The lowest weight I have been with "dieting" in the past, is around 173. I actually looked pretty good too. I weighed that much when I got pregnant both times as well. Go figure!
My highest weight has been 220 and that was one year ago. I have had three kidney infections within that time, and that was how I dropped most of the 20 lbs.
I decided I needed to change my life. 4 weeks ago I committed to change, and here I am now. While I do sometimes feel like I have worked so hard for only 4 measly pounds, and that feels like nothing....I know I have to keep going. So I will keep going and hopefully these upcoming changes in my meds will work for me.
