Hi girls just thought i'd start this topic,

I am from Portsmouth, Hampshire, United Kingdom

Home of the British Royal Navy and birthplace of Charles D*ickens (it thinks it's a naughty word)

Where are you in the world and what is interesting about the place you live, feel free to post pics



This is a picture of Old Portmouth & the Harbour mouth, and the Spinnaker tower, I spent my saturdays in the summer as a child at that beach

I am currently living in Tennessee, U.S.A. I am originally from the Chicago area of Illinois and will be moving back in about 2 years I cant wait!!!! So I will post a picture of both places

I have a big list of places i want to visit, the furthest i have been away from home is Majorca and the place i have visited the most is France as It's just across the channel and I live by the continental ferry port lol

This is terrific! I went to upload pictures into photobucket yesterday but got sidetracked looking at B/A pictures... oops! Later today I will upload and share some pics of where I'm from and where I live now.

Wow Chicago! I'm going to the US at the end of next year and Chicago is on my list of places to go (basically because it looked so beautiful in the Vow).

I am from New Zealand (little island down the bottom of the world)

Originally I am from Nelson, which is at the top of the South Island, and is very touristy - it's very artsy and has beautiful beaches
Here are some pictures of Nelson:


This is Golden Bay (Nelson is part of Golden Bay) - beautiful beaches, flat water with no waves, and the water is soooo clear. I miss it haha.

Now I live in Christchurch, which is also quite a nice city - it's known as the garden city. But it was hit with a couple huge earthquakes in 2010 and 2011 and the city has been pretty much destroyed. We still don't have access to most of the city because buildings are being demolished (still, more than a year after our last major EQ).

Sorry for so many pictures, I could post soooo many more - google "christchurch earthquake" - there are even videos on youtube of when it happened, the supermarket ones are crazy.
Just so you know, I don't know anyone that was hurt in the earthquakes and my house was fine, we have actually since moved house, and the house we moved into has damage! - it is minimal though, there were two fire places (had been covered up as open fires are no longer legal in chch) and so the chimneys fell off the roof and there are cracks in the walls where the chimneys are. Will be fixed at some stage but is low priority when people are living in houses that have missing walls, or whose houses are falling off the edge of a cliff!

i know what you mean, and also about googling the places where people live, Portsmouth, Hampshire UK, to see all the many many photo's we'd love to upload, looking forward to everyone else posting some pics
