anyone have any thoughts on training teams? i.e. Team Bombshell, Oddo's Angels, Team Angels, etc.?
I ask, because I have an application for Team Bombshell, but am curious as to the cost and how accountable I would have to be to them as opposed to myself, etc. I do my own killer workouts. I eat really good on my own when the time comes. Is it worth getting into? Is there a certain amount of competitions I have to commit to? I'm not certain competing forever is going to be my thing. Eventually I'd like to get into fitness modeling, etc....
So, any thoughts or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

There's a local team here in the Portland area that I've considered contacting (Team iPhysique) but I also follow Oddo's Angels on Facebook since I'm a huge fan of Kim Oddo's work. I don't have any direct experience, but I think being on a team would be kind of cool. You have so many different people to draw advice and support from. It doesn't strike me that you have to sacrifice much of "yourself" in order to contribute to the team - its more just a group of people to help motivate and hold you accountable to your goals.0

any idea on costs? I've heard can run from $1200 for what I can do for free on my own....0

Interesting that this got posted now because I just joined up with a training team today (or will officially next week). It is a local team in the Chicago area, Team F.A.B., and is coached by Staci Boyer. I watched a live show last weekend and was very impressed with how their girls looked on stage. And, they won the team trophy! I also found out about all the perks that go along with a sponsored team, so I'm signing up.0

The one I'm looking into is $390 for 12 weeks and $75/month after that. It includes a team robe, product samples from the sponsor, a team tank top, and nutrition, exercise coaching, 4 group posing sessions, and tanning/makeup/hair services. I've seen prices all the way up to $800 for 12 weeks in this area, so this is a good deal for what you get.0 -

interesting, may I ask if it was expensive and/or worth it? Sorry, is that $390 a week for 12 weeks or $390 for the 12 weeks?0 -

Not sure about cost for the local team, but I know Oddo's Angels is ~$1,100 for the 12-week competition prep and then you earn the right to be called an "Angel" with no further financial comittment. (Though I'm assuming competitors continue to pay for off-season plans, etc)0 -
I am on a team and It cost me $600 flat fee. I started in June 2011 with the intention of competing in November 2011 but I wasn't in the right shape at the time. I think the pricing system has changed since I started but who knows. Team is located in Woburn, MA.0

It's $390 for 12-weeks, complete competition prep, nutrition, exercise, suit selection, hair, makeup, tanning, the works. The $390 also includes a $50 initial membership fee that gets you the team shirt, robe, etc. After the first 12 weeks, it's $75/month to continue. She does entirely online training, so you don't necessarily have to be in the Chicago area.
Can't really say that I know it's worth it yet, since I've just signed up myself, but having watched a live show, the girls from that team were clearly the best looking, most prepared, most put together competitors on that stage. I've heard nothing but good things about the team.0 -
I know this was like 2 years ago, but any update on how this went? I'm in the Chicago area and also looking for some more information regarding joining a team or not. Did you enjoy the experience? was or is it worth it??0

Just seeing this now, sorry. Things have changed slightly since my original posts. Yes, I joined that team, competed 3 times in 2012, 2 times in 2013. I was very happy with the coach I was assigned, but there were a few others things that weren't so great about the team as a whole. At the beginning of this year, the team split, with both head coaches going separate ways and forming their own teams. For countless reasons, I stuck with my coach, and am now part of Team Iron Nation. It is truly a family on this team, without a lot of the negativity that you find in some teams.0
