For all the guys and girls that are not sure on how much you should be eating and drinking while exercising.

Harris Benedict Equation comes into play here , easy to follow if your not that good at working out the formula below then everyone's good friend google can help :happy:

For the ladies:

655 + (4.35 x weight in pounds) + (4.7 x height in inches) - (4.7 x age in years) =

after that you have a choice depending on exercise factor

1.2 | little or no exercise
1.375 | light exercise(1-3days)
1.55 | moderately active(3-5days)
1.7 | very active(6-7days)
1.9 |extremely active(hard daily workout +physical demanding job

after you decide what category above you fall into you take that and multiply to what number the sum gave you.

should look something like this

655 + (4.35 x weight in pounds) + (4.7 x height in inches) - (4.7 x age in years) =*0123 0123 x 1.7=

For the guys:

66 + (6.23 x weight in pounds) + (12.7 x height in inches) - (6.8 x age in years)= *0123 0123 x 1.7 =

*0123 is just there to simplify the formula rather then me leave it blank

I've used the 1.7 for the examples because that is what category I fall into.

now you will have the daily amount of calories to maintain your weight which you can alter to either lose or gain,

to lose subtract 500 calories or to gain add 250-300 calories.

remember the method used above gives you your body burned calories by not doing anything and your exercise calories.

hope you will all find this helpful :smile:

    66 + (6.23 x 200) + (12.7 x 69) - (6.8 x 24) = 2025.1

    2 025.1 x 1.7 = 3 442.67

    this is what my results are, I eat around 2000 calories a day and I'm loosing around 2.5lbs a week

    Hey Dean, save most people trying to work it out themselves, it would be better for them to use the calculator for ease; http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/

    Then all they need to do is use the HBE of exercise factor with the BMI result and they're set :)

    I've done the calculation and here are the results mate, turns out that both the calculate and your equation are both equal =)
    66 + (6.23 x 167.2) + (12.7 x 68) - (6.8 x 27) = 1787.656

    66 + 1041.656 + 863.6 - 183.6 = 1787.656

    BMR + HBF Results:
    1.55 = 2770.8668

    1.7 = 3039.0152

    1.725 = 3083.7066

    Calculator

    Height: 5ft 8in

    Weight: 167.2lbs

    Age: 27

    Gender: Male

    Calculated BMR = 1787.656

    Harris Benedict Formula:

    Sedentary (little or no exercise): BMR x 1.2

    Lightly Active (1-3 days per week): BMR x 1.375

    Moderately Active (3-5 days per week): BMR x 1.55

    Very Active (6-7 days per week): BMR x 1.725

    Extra Avtive (very hard exercise/sports and physical job or 2x training): BMR x 1.9

    BMR + HBF Results:

    1.55 = 2770.8668

    1.7 = 3039.0152

    1.725 = 3083.7066

    Hope you like the results matey =)
