It's a slow process

I know that it takes a long time to lose the weight, but I feel like I am getting impatient. I have lost 7 pounds in the first 2 weeks but last week (after the holiday weekend) I was at the same weight and did not lose. I know that a healthy weight loss is a slow weight loss but I couldn't help but to feel disappointed when the scale didn't move. I have been working out a few times a week and I feel like I am putting a lot of effort into this. I think I am going to need to learn some more patience and realize that this can't happen overnight! I really wish it would though!

Jen....stop weighing yourself but every other week. Remember 1 to 2 lbs a week is what is healthy and statistically people that lose at that rate keep it off longer.

I understand your feeling completely because I feel that way when I do the scales. I am only weighing every other week at the nutrientionlist because I get so focused and discouraged about that number. Try to retrain your brain to thinking I am eating right and exercising to make myself healthier the number going down on the scale is just a benefit. And everytime the scale stays the same you still won because it did not go up. You may not be moving but your not moving in the wrong direction. It is just a number.

Just keep swimming....in the end we are going to be so proud of ourselves because we conquered this weight issues even with the struggles. And when we all fit into a size 9 it won't matter what number the scales say cause we are in a size 9.

Ladybug, I am going to try weighing myself every other week like you do. I think that will be a good way to get rid of this scale anxiety. I started all of this just wanting to be healthier but somehow it had transformed into caring more about the pounds...
