I am there with you... I am the mom of 5 (12wks to 11 yrs)

I have tried Low carbing several times and only once was I sucessful I lost over 80 lbs (2 years ago) and then I got pregnant and gained too much of it back. The last couple of weeks I have been trying to controll calories and I have no control .... but I know that low carbing works for my body so I changed up my game plan and began low carbing yesterday.

Always always have something to snack on. In the car, in the fridge, in your bookbag. Cheese, veggies, natural peanut butter w/celery, nuts, Slim Jims, hard-boiled eggs, even Atkins bars and shakes that are "rated" for induction (I find the cheapest is Target). You can't really eat too much on induction but people often eat too little then they feel crummy then they give in and eat something they shouldn't.

If you're hungry, eat. Never find yourself without something you CAN eat or you'll find yourself reaching for the wrong thing.

Also try to limit the carbs in the house. I'm sure your kids will freak out but do they NEED chips, cookies, candy, ice cream and sugary drinks? They should be healthy too. Just get rid of as much as you can for now until you have your footing and then slowly let the junk come back into the house if it must.

If you fall off, just keep going. Don't eat a whole cake because you "slipped" and ate a cracker. Giving in to a banana craving doesn't mean you should have a can of Coke. Be good to yourself and don't be a defeatist.

There is so much you can eat on Atkins, don't for one minute think you're missing anything. Make yourself something special like a cheesecake (Google for recipes) that lets you indulge and enjoy what you eat. Atkins is a joy not a punishment.

    Good luck! Keep posting!
