I never thought I would...

Hi, I am trying to motivate myself to quit smoking. I have just started my health plan (weight loss/toning) and I need to quit smoking as well.

So, I would like to ask those of you who have quit for any length of time: What can/have you done since you quit smoking that you never thought you could?

For those of us who are planning to quit or in the early days of quitting: what would you like to do once you quit smoking?

For myself, I would like to exercise without going into a coughing fit. I would like to run and not feel the smoker's short breath (a little different than normal short breath from running...it seems to be sharper, if that makes sense). I would also like to be able to kiss or hug my boyfriend without feeling self concious about smelling like cigarettes. Oh...and not gain weight.

I've noticed a difference in my breathing when I run...I actually ran with someone not long ago that was in shape but not a runner (and never a smoker)...he was gasping for breath where I was breathing comfortably! That really gave me perspective!

I also enjoy knowing that I don't gross others out (especially my man) with my stinky smoke smell.

    FTR I'm on day 108.

    Good luck!
