does anyone know of some good hiking apps (prefer free) for driod? like maybe a distance one or something?!?

    I use Endomondo, has lots of different activities walking cycle, skiing etc, etc, etc... It provides updates at every mile or your preference and an easy to use interface. It is also backed up by an excellent website where you can track your activity at a more granular level. All this and it is free. There is a paid version and I am thinking of installing that when I upgrade my mobile, just as a thank you to them.

    I use Runkeeper which is similar to Endomondo.

    Peaks.ar is a great app. It determines your location via GPS, then using your phone's camera and display, shows you names and elevation of the peaks you're looking at.
