I am doing new rules of lifting for women. I follow the routines, get my protein in 98% of the time and stay under my cals 99% of the time. I have only lost 3 lbs (about to start stage 2). I know I am not supposed to be worried about the scale since I am gaining muscle. However, I have lost inches in my hips, thighs, waist and arms in the last month. I just did my measurements and I lost another inch in my waist and an inch and a half in my hips. My thighs and arms are being stubborn though and I think I gained like half an inch in both. Is this because I am lifting? I am so confused and becoming frustrated. Should I be worried???? Is there anything I can do to change it??
Thanks for your help in advance!!

ABSOLUTELY NOT...you are TRANSFORMING, you will start to really see it once all the wonderful muscle you are gaining starts burning off even more of the fat. You are sort of going through fat for muscle exchange...
You have had substantial fat losses for sure...but as you know muscle weigh more. Stay focused on the lifting, try to hit your calories every day, protein super important....
Don't worry about the scale, trust me the weight may not come off as fast, BUT, the sculpting that is taking place is so rewarding in the end.
Hun, I am at a weight right now, that I COULD NOT fit anything other size 8's...but I am wearing a lose 6 and some 4's...due to muscle. TRUST me, the more you lift, the fat will burn off, you just can't dictate how fast the scale goes down. Watch your clothes, the mirror, and that tape measure...those are way better indicators when you heavy lift.
Keep up the awesome work lady! You are doing outstanding!!!!0 -
Thank you!
I think I needed that motivation and that push in the right direction!0 -
You are really doing great...this is not an instant over night drop it quick kind of weight loss....it takes time, you gain muscle, lose inches and fat...yes the weight goes down, but just not the way you are used to with eating less and cardio more.... you are transforming your physique and that is so much more gratifying when you finally do get to your goal size. I say goal size because you may reevaluate what your goal weight is...muscle weighs so much more...I will be a good 10lbs more than my goal weight I know it...easy, but as long as I fit comfy in all my 4's WHO CARES:-)0
