No weight loss about to start carbinazole (hyperthyroid)

I've just got in from the hospital and have been confirmed as having hyperthyroidism and have been put on 15mg carbinazole a day to suppress my thyroid.
I've had no weight loss due to the hyper - the weight I have lost is due to a better diet and exercise.

What I'm wondering is...

Am I going to gain weight despite not having lost it due to thyroid?

I know that's completely not the point of this treatment and this is more about my health than anything else but I've worked so so hard to lose the 10lbs I'm down already, I don't think I can bare to gain it back again plus possibly more.

I don't know this medication and could not find it in my drug book...hopefully it will not affect your weight loss. There are a lot of antithyroid meds though...I would just make sure the your dr knows of your concern.

I'm having the same problem as you Lottielou13. I was prescribed Carbimazole yesterday but 30mg a day. I've just posted the same question too. No weight loss as such for me either. My thyroid function was is currently 51. I've been up and down on the same stone for the last 2 years despite adding exercise.
