Not a BMR question!! YAY!!
I've heard the 30% Carb, 40%Protein, 30% Fat ratios. My question is for endurance athletes UDSA reccomends 50-55% Carbs . (http://www.livestrong.com/article/198282-balanced-diet-for-an-athlete/) I'm both lifting heavy (CrossFit), training for a tri and endurance bike ride.
Any suggestions regarding adjusted ratios? I was considering increasing carbs some and decreasing fat while keeping protein at 40%. Also (now here is a REALLY stupid question) should the % add up to 100? I would think so then when I went to go look at the settings MFP had for me they weren't even close to adding up to 100%. Where do they expect me to get the other % from???
Another interesting article regarding diet of endurance athelete... http://www.livestrong.com/article/387777-endurance-athlete-diet/

Yep, it's perfectly acceptable, and expected for certain types of athletes to have more carbs. and yes the total should add to 100% Just don't drop the fat too low, certain levels are needed to maintain body functions...0

I'm eating a higher amount of carbs since I'm a runner. I also don't skimp on the fat. My protein is lower - 15% - it's within guidelines and sufficient for me!0
