I know High Intensity Interval Training but how do you do it? I don't mean to sound like an idiot but can you explain it? Do you add it to this program?

I'm planning to add it when the book recommends in stage 2, where I'll plan on pushing hard on the treadmill/elliptical for 1 minute, then going 2 minutes at a "recovery" pace. There's a whole description of it in the book in the Stage 2 section, but I don't have my book with me, so I'm not sure the page number.0
