Deadlift help?! Stage 1

Options
I just did workout 1B today which stats with deadlifts. I know the goal is to start with 2 sets of 15 reps and then work on increasing weight and decreasing reps during each workout. The problem is...I can't lift JUST the bar for 2 sets of 15 when doing the deadlift. I was able to get through about 2 sets of 8-10. So what I want to know is how to progress from here. I probably wont get to 2 sets of 15 before it is time for me to start decreasing the reps and increasing the weight. Any tips?

Omg I'm not the only one who had trouble, I coul do the bar but I felt like I was doing it wrong or something it was so hard for me! I wanted to ask someone to make sure i was doin it right but I was embarrassed lol.

I say stick with the bar and do as many reps as you can, trying to increase the reps. next set, next workout and you will get to 15 in no time. Or you can do the deadlift with dbs until you can do DL with BB. If it was me, I'll stick with the bar and just do as many as I can.

are you able to lift the bar when you squat? if so then the problem might be with your form since squats and deadlifts are kind of similar

also where are you getting stuck with lifting the bar? is it the grip?

here's a good video on proper form

this one is also good. it's for taller people but it really helped me. i'm only 5'5 but i have long legs and taking a wider stance than normal really helped
