DIARY VIEWING

Ok I am not being sarcastic, just inquisitive. Why is it so important to view your diary as a prerequisite to being your friend? Would you not possibly lose the chance of finding a new friend, whereas you have so much more in common? I just look at it more of what else I have in common with the person. Please no sarcasm..I see enough of that on community posts.

Good question, I don't get it. I don't have to see your diary to consider you as a friend. My diary is open so that I can get feed back. I've seen friends who have not realized that something in the database was wrong (actually higher than it really was) and it was pointed it out by several people. My friend actually could have eaten more calories.
Open diary is the last thing I would consider as being important for friendship here.
I'm with you Nana the sarcasm isn't appreciated or needed.0 -

I agree about eliminating any sarcasm from the posts. This is a free service/site where all who are interested can find people of a like mind in trying to shed some weight and get healthier. Why muddy it with snide remarks or sarcasm?
Whether someone's diary is open or not does not make a difference to me as to "friending" them. I like to see the open diaries because I use it sometimes to get ideas of different "light" foods to eat and their calorie counts. It's a personal choice to open your information to friends or not. I'm also open to suggestions from others who view my diary.0 -
I enjoy viewing diaries to see what others are eating and get ideas, but it wouldn't keep me from friending someone.0

I like looking at Issy's diary. I get lots of good ideas from it.
I don't mind someone not having an open diary, as long as they aren't asking for advice about their diet. It is hard to help someone with advice or information if you can't see what they are doing, to begin with. I also find it a little weird to say.."Wtg!" or "Nice job" when it posts they stayed under their calories, they might have eaten 200 calories all day. That is all that concerns me over it.
I wouldn't let it keep me from being friends though.0 -

I closed my diary last week after an attack from someone in a challenge with me. I wasn't eatting as she thought the whole over calories and under you exercise. When I tried to explain I go by my cardiologist diet she started her post as "oh right!!!!" I don't need nor want the drama. I've also caught flack over being a Christian. What I eat or don't eat and who I am does not determine whether I can use this site or not. God gave us all free will and so does this site. I can be a friend or not. I can open my diary, share on FB, there are many settings we all can choose. One thing we all have in common is we want to loose weight, maintain our weight or just live a healthy life. That all being said, phew what a mouthful, I am so happy to be here and having the tools so easy at my disposal. I used to do this by hand in my daytimer. That's how I found MFP. I kept using the database for the calories. So I thought hmmm might be easier. I am normally a very happy person. I love people. So what ever your choices are I respect that. I hope we can all find a common ground here. Our weight and health is different then when we were 20! I sure am happy to be here meeting everyone. Soooooo now I really hope I didn't step on anyones toes and if I did please forgive me.
On to real issues.......how do you measure your breast when they are almost to your waist????0 -

That is cute how do you measure your breast i'm sure they would measure smaller without the bra lol.
I like the open diary only for idea's if you went over calories you don't need flak about it. You know.
We can only do the best in our power. Some days I lead and some days I follow.
Good luck to all on this journey.0 -
