C25K on Vacation

I'm going for a week long vacation in Florida next week (yea!) and I'm in the middle of C25K, doing week 5.

Do I tackle week 6 while on vacation? OR do I just repeat week 5 when I come back? I will be in a very safe area and the temp should be warm but not too bad.

What do you think? I think I'm physically capable of it, I just don't want to take my gear and end up not using it and I don't want to loose momentum!

Thanks in advance.

Edit to say: I always run outside, I won't have access to and wouldn't think of touching a dread-mill :)

What about repeating Week 5 while on vacation? That way you don't lose momentum, but you're also not trying to add distance while acclimating to a hotter climate and you're allowing yourself a bit of reprieve since you will be on vacation.
You can move on to week 6 when you get back!

As someone who has done C25k before, I absolutely vote for doing the program as normal (so week 6 for you.)
Some of the most memorable, wonderful memories I have of my last time through it were on vacation.
    - Using the hotel treadmill for the first time in my life on a trip with hubby to a convention
    - running the beautiful streets in cherry hill, nj while visiting family friends - and getting to know the neighborhood.
    - watching my grandmother's jaw drop to the ground when I told her I'm going for a little run when I was visiting her retirement home.

Don't do the program in spite of your life. Do it as part of your life.
    (just my two cents :)

Make that $0.04. Take your stuff.

Thanks everyone. I think I am definitely bringing my gear. Just bringing it with me will be enough motivation to use it and not totally let go because I'm on vacation! And then there is running on the beach...

I just got back from 3 weeks in florida, I was on weeks 5-8 down there, and trust me, it's hard. You may need to shuffle things around, plan when you run (early morning is best!) and find somewhere to run (I ran on the beach...it was hard but so beautiful!) but seriously, do it while you're there. For me, it got me more committed to doing the program, running, and made me focus on vacation. Choose a path that's scenic and lets you enjoy the beautiful florida morning!
  • I'm going to Florida tomorrow and I'm also on Week 6 Day 1. I'm bringing my stuff and running. I always run outside and I'm looking forward to NO HILLS!

Well, today I did day 1 of week 6 on Anna Maria Island. It was great! It felt totally easy. My best mile time and longest run yet. Downside: I sweat off all my sunscreen and am rocking a wicked sunburn. Its only my second day in florida :( I will see if the resort has a treadmill for Tuesday.
