If I have time the only activity I do is yoga on off days. I am trying to stick to the book and refrain from doing cardio. This has been very difficult for me especially since before starting this program I was going HIT six days a week. A few times I have gone on extended bike rides on the weekend too.

I do cardio workouts at home using DVDs I check out at the library. They provide great variety so I'm never bored. They run any where from 20-50 minutes and I do them 2-3 times per week. This is in additon to the interval training and body matrix in NROL4W.

I've been taking a class at the Y on my off-lifting days and eating back all of the calories. I have to say that I don't give it as much effort as I did in the past (use lighter weights and maybe do jumping jacks instead of jump squats), but I enjoy it so I'm going to keep doing it as long as I feel good. I'm also trying to run 365 miles in a year so I tack on a mile before class as well.

I wasn't doing any cardio during Stage 1, but I decided to start running during off days when I started Stage 2. If it gets to be a problem, I'll cut down or stop running.

I go to Zumba, bootcamp, cardio fit or step class. My gym changed the yoga class, but I used to go to that class as well.

I run 2-3 x per week for about 3-4 miles. I have a running buddy I meet with on Thursday mornings before my lifting workout. We run about 4 miles and then I go to the gym. So far, it hasn't hindered my lifting but I am still in stage 1.

I do an hour of cardio too on off days, usually taking weekends off. 1 hour on the Elliptical (low level) or Treadmill (trying to incorporate intervals, so I'll be ready for them in stage 2). Plus I take a 1 hr. dance class (tap & jazz) once/week.

I walk to work and back every day - which is about 50minutes of brisk walking. I swim once a week for a half hour or so. I have been walking to work for years so this isn't really extra activity on top and swimming for about five months so have just kept it in. I've followed the advice and tried to do some HIIT in the pool before doing some lengths. On the upside I have absolutely quit running since I hated it anyway!
