What is strength training? HELP please

hi there
You say that it is good lift weights and do some strength training ... I am novice at this whole process and so can you verify for me if 30 day shred comes under this ... i use 2kg weights for it and it says it is strength training for part and cardio for another part but i don't know if this enough strength training.
Do you mean pumping out sets of a certain number of exercises?
I like to do programmes and dvd's ... do you reccommend a strentgh training dvd for noviceseginners like me?

    I could not tell you whether 30ds is a strength training DVD just because I have never done it. The parameters for lifting is that you lift heavy enough that you can only get to the 12th rep and you can only do 2 - 3 sets. I do a program called Chalean Extreme it is on DVD and I believe Kiki does a program by Cathe Fredricks.

    Yes I would say that they geared towards beginners. Lots of instruction and help along the way.
