starting c25k & doing 30DS

hey - i was going to start both of these this week... and after my first day of both (well, only half of 30DS because just couldn't finish it after just finishing c25k day 1), i'm wondering about the intelligence of this choice. i really want to get in shape yet i'm really out of shape & wondering if i can do both of these at the same time. the most challenging part of c25k felt like the breathing altho when i started the 30DS, i just didn't have the strength to do more than 10 minutes. i think i read that someone else here is also doing them together - would love to hear your feedback. and any other suggestions that may be out there. thanks. katie

I am walking as well as doing the 30 day shred... On my days off, i can walk early and do the 30 DS before i go to bed. On my workdays 12 hours from 6am to 6pm...i am hoping to walk at 615...get home, eat something light and then rest a few before 30DS and shower...i hope it works out ..we will see

I am doing both as well. I have done 30ds before and I am on week 2 of c25k. Dont put yourself down if u need to repeat a week of running. I am on my second time doing week 2. week 3 next week, hopefully this time i will be ready for it. Its hard doing both. I kinda need a "break" i go for the run first then i come home to drink water and i do about 30 mins of cleaning my house and i am ready to go. my legs were shaking after doing both yesterday. sore today and just doing 30ds but if i was anymore sore i would take a day off. it is ok to have a recovery day or just go for a walk.0 -
I am doing both. I do 30 DS first and then run. I'm doing the C25K program every other day and walking with a 15 lb pack the other days. If you are still burning out - try splitting them up. Are you able to get through 30DS on days that you have not run? If not, ease yourself into more cardio. Walk for a couple of weeks then start introducing running. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither is our muscles! Take it slow and revel in what you CAN and HAVE accomplished!0
