Meeting Macros?

Does anyone have any help for this?

It seems as if I concentrate on protein I get low carbs, if I concentrate on carbs I get low protein. Today I have 182 protein (-11) and 103 carbs ( 125 remaining).

I'm really thinking a piece of cheesecake and a coke should cure that issue!

Not sure if you know, but you can change your macros to what you prefer.

I normally stop right where you are right now...those are perfect for me!

Yes, I have them set 40/30/30 but I can't seem to meet both of them at same time.

I'm sure it's not the right thing to do, but for right now I'm just worried about keeping my protein up. I started with getting it over 100 and now am trying to get it over 120 every day. According to MFP it should be a lot higher but I'm trying to take the whole process in smaller steps and celebrating the wins when I achieve it.

Whew, I know it is an art form. I tend to plan my diary in the morning which helps. Sometimes I do end up changing..but I focus more on trying to get in the protein. Today I am doing horribly...

I had the same issue in the beginning, too. Most everyone here said to focus on protein first. And since doing that, my carbs are almost always under 40% but as long as I'm getting in my protein, I'm good.

So then do I not even worry? Just concentrate on keeping protein up and forget the carbs?

Seriously, why does all this stuff have to require brain hurt

I have mine set to 40/30/30 as well. It was tough in the beginning, but protein shakes help. Also have a protein with carbs. You just have to take a week and play around with foods, and practice your diary. Try ealier in the day too, just to get in the mind set of what needed for the day, rather than find at the end of the how much more you need to eat. Try pre-cooking (whole wheat pasta/brown rice/protein meats) to make it easier to grab and go.

    Good luck!!

After my afternoon snack today I had achieved PERFECT 40/30/30 ratio. And then I ate again... :)

I love my protein shakes, but today I don't have room for one. I did decide to drink some country time lemonade (2 8oz serving mixed with 32 oz water lmao) so that bumped carbs. I also logged a cadbury creme egg, but I haven't decided yet! Oh and I made quinoa for the first time ever! Absolutely love this! Wonder why I never tried it before!!!

If you need both protein and carbs try eating some whole green lentils I have those and 100g has 29.6g carbs, 30.6 g dietary fibre and 25.8g protein! I love cooked lentils with salads or even on their own!

What do you cook them in?
