I've never been a runner - or really a jogger- Have done lots of cycling and aerobic walking, tracked my steps for the last 3+ years... Well, just started trying some interval training of fast walking and jogging- probably with the WRONG shoes (Skecher Shape Ups), and my knees are SO sore, behind the kneecaps! This was a huge mistake!
I'm still trying to keep up with the walking 5+ miles per day, but the pain is really bothering me... I don't want to jog anymore / can find other ways to burn calories.
Any suggestions on how to relieve the throbbing knees? I'm trying ice, but the thought of just sitting it out for a few days really makes me crazy!

I'm not an expert, but I don't think those shape ups are meant for running. I would go to a shoe store that has people that Know about the shoes they're selling and tell them your type of exercises and have them suggest something. I have the New Balance 813 cross training shoes. Love them. Very supportive.0
