How'd the weekend go for everyone?
I went to Carolina Ale house w/ some friends Saturday for cinco de mayo. We ended up there for about 6 hours. A friend of a friend came and I started talking to her for a bit - we seemed to hit it off, I think we're going to go do some hiking tomorrow since I'm off work. She's pretty cool, cute and likes outdoors. Pretty sure she's also a runner, but that convo came later in the night when I might have been a little intoxicated.
Also, ended up telling off the ex gf - and told her she'd never hear from me again. She pissed me off.

Mine went as planned. Spent Friday night with my friend who says he's my friend but acts more like a boyfriend. Whatever! We have fun. Spent the rest of the weekend talking to him constantly (he worked) and hung out with my kiddos. Those same kiddos that are scaring him away. Blah blah blah. I'm sure you all will hear tons more about all that later on when he totally breaks my heart. For now I'm trying the "having fun" thing. And shush to all of you that told me to stop seeing him. I know! I heard you! I chose not to listen.0

Date number 3 with a guy I can't decide if i'm attracted to or not..... Am I scared or Do I really just want a pretty boy..0

LOL on your ex.
My ex-husband actually started texting me this weekend thinking he was texting his current wife. Yeah... that is never good. I got a good laugh though!
My weekend went well. My youngest daughter came home from spring break... she was gone a week and I missed her ornery personality. I took her and her sister to get manicures yesterday and they just eat that stuff up. So fun to watch.
Relationship wise I'm a mess... the guy I really like that went to TX for a temporary project texted me all weekend... however, I don't know if he's just bored or what. There is a guy in town I'm also kind of talking to but we haven't gone out yet. Don't want to mess up anything with TX-Dude but I don't know if there IS anything to mess up as far as he is concerned. So I'm just confused... like normal.
Oh, the principal of the JR High sent home a form for me to fill out to have my soon-to-be 8th grade daughter tested for the TAG program (talented and gifted). My daughter is not thrilled.... doesn't want to be a "nerd". This would be so good for her but I am not sure how to convince her of it. I was super excited though... :laugh:0 -
I get a little jealous when you all talk about your dates and encounters. I guess I'm in a rut. No dates, no one new. I did, however, enjoy roller skating with my kids on Saturday. And I have the bruises to show for it! :happy:0

Tell her there are smart people who aren't nerds. But 6 months after she graduates and moves on with her life, no one will care what classes you were in. I wish I would have taken all the AP classes in high school. When life really matters, your high school years don't.0 -

In all honesty, I was VERY nice/good to her. I treated her better than anyone had ever treated her before. I wasn't an *kitten* (ha, believe it or not) or anything. I was feeling a little fiesty Saturday and I sent her a text that said something along the lines of "I must have been some kind of piece of **** for you to just end it like that" - and she replied later that night along the lines of "well, don't think about it like that - but your true colors did come out. Have a good time "hun"" and I flipped on her.
I told her that if by true colors she meant I did something wrong to her she was being silly because I was good to her. and that for her to never expect to hear from me, never contact me and that she didn't deserve to call me hun anymore. and to not.
I may have went a little farther than I needed too, but it really pissed me off the way she had the balls to make it sound like I did something wrong to her.
But, I was texting her that while I was talking to this new girl. So I stopped and focused back on her. Which, ended up being a good thing.0 -

Just a suggestion... see if the counselor will let her sit in on one of the classes. Gifted students like a more engaging classroom setting. She may just be thinking that it is just harder work, and doesn't yet realize how hands-on it can be. Good luck! I've got two gifted students.0 -
My boy came down this weekend .. or is it up?? or over? Anyway .. he came to see me and we had the best time. This man really could not be any sweeter. I am quite taken by him. I had a bit of a panic a couple weeks ago .. freaked out. Made all kinds of silly requests of him and he just smiled and kept being his sweet self. He didn't over react and freak out at me.. like he should have.. and I have now come back to my senses and have realized just how special this man is. I think maybe on some level I was trying to push him away so that I wouldn't have to deal with the possibility of getting hurt again. But he didn't give up on me and I am so happy for that. He has my little heart. He even killed a possibly deadly python in my yard.
I picked up a cold somewhere along the way too. boooo.:grumble:
Catherine .. just go with it if it makes you happy now. There are so many things in life that just suck. Take happiness where you can get it.0 -

A python? or a snake? lol0 -
I went with my sisters to Mexican restaurant in honor of Cinco de Mayo then to see THink like A Man.......on Saturday.
Then, was supposed to have date #3 on Sunday with boy, but he was sick Usually he texts alot, but he didn't and I know he was sick, but can't tell if he is also losing intererest. So, I went to lunch with cousins and aunt, and then did a little shopping for new place..unfortunately, I didnt find much
On a happier note, a blast from the past reappeared. A guy that I had met on OKCupid....we never ended up meeting......then he went off OKC, so I assumed he met someone-no big deal. Then over the weekend I looked on there--had been awhile since I had beenon, and he showed up in my favorites that he was online....what????? So I wrote a note saying nice to see you, and he has been emailing back and forth all morning.

Friday late night showing of Avengers 3D Imax (amazing).
Saturday during the day I went to National Free Comic Book Day, got a few free books, bought a few, my friends dressed up as the cast of Serenity. Friday night I went to the after-party which had tons of folks dressed up. Ran into the girl from the weekend before, (here's where the confusion comes into play) I went up to her to hug her and she started kissing me (ok, cool, I'm good with this), talked to her for a while inside, went outside talked some more, got her pictures with her wearing a proton pack and a stormtrooper helmet. She also kept kissing me when we were sitting outside talking and kept telling me she wanted things to go slow (this is the really confusing part, she also referred to herself as skittish, and really wanted me to know she liked me wtf? lol), but I'm supposed to see her for a movie tonight and we'll see what happens.0 -
A python? or a snake? lol
That is so what a boy would pick out of that entire paragraph. I swear it was a python .. he thinks perhaps it was a garden snake. I am of the opinion that it would have eaten me if given half a chance. He thinks not so much. I think he was wrong.0 -

So your boy wasn't being chivalrous. He was eliminating the competition. :bigsmile:0 -

I seriously almost just spit my diet pepsi out!!!! hahahahahaah! :drinker: nice one!!! I would totally high five you for that!0 -
I had a pretty productive weekend, got some good workouts in and got a lot of yard work done. Dating wise...I haven't see the girl I'm seeing since Thursday. She invited me over for dinner, I brought her flowers and we introduced our dogs. I think everything went well, she's a great cook and our dogs got along fine, I'm just starting to think it's not going anywhere. Probably because she works nights and most weekends so our sleep schedules are completely opposites, so no sleepovers and I don't see any in the near future.
So she was busy pretty much all weekend and I asked her to hang out tonight, she said she had plans and didn't really offer an alternative, so I just left it at that. I'm kind of over it, just not feeling any sparks at this point. I'll give it another week or so though.0 -
Well Saturday spent mowing/weed eating my back yard (1/4 acre with a push mower - great burn!) , planting tomatoes, and watering. After that I was too tired to do much else.
Sunday I made mini fritattas - ham, swiss cheese and artichoke hearts (YUM!) Made some homemade caramel for my boss before he goes on vacation. And tried to make meals for this week for me. Sometimes I suck at planning, but I was trying to be prepared.
Did a lot of thinking, and realizing the guy I have been seeing since Jan - I am starting to get the butterfly feelings for him. This coming up weekend he is taking me camping. Our little romantic getaway. Do some fishing, skeet shooting and hiking. I really can not wait.0 -
I broke it off with the girl I was seeing. It hurt a lot more than I thought it would and now I have been left wondering if it was the right decision......0

In general, I would say it was the right decision, or you wouldn't have gone through with it. But do you mind if I ask why you broke up with her?0 -

Um, there is a huge difference in a python and a garden snake. lol
One is deadly. One is harmless and a good snake to have.0 -
I feel like my updates are now lame since they don't involve 1st dates but my weekend was good.
Friday I was off so I took advantage and packed some more and moved more. My cousin and her hub were here and we just sort of hung out. Then once Smiley got off he had to help his brother move the rest of his stuff so we met up a bit later for dinner. He met my cousin and he hit it off with her hub. After dinner we caught about 30 minutes of the 80's cover band at a park nearby.
Saturday was moving day. FL and Smiley met. The morning started off a little rough but we managed. I can tell Smiley is a manly man and it def came out this weekend. He took charge of the moving and I so appreciated it. I think he was silently competing against FL which is fine by me. They got along but Smiley def liked my cousin's husband better. They have more in common.
My friend ended up bailing out on me for Saturday night so we ended up just going to Smiley's for food and drinking. I met his brother (new roommate) and the girlfriend, which are cool. FL left early and I drank way too much. I felt horrible the next day and was embarrassed. I didn't act a fool in front of the family but Smiley saw a glimpse of my wild side and apparently it wasn't a happy wild side. Oh boy.
Anywho, we got up the next day and he came over to help with the last of moving. He did SO much for me this weekend. He's awesome!!! I'm sure he is exhausted.
He ended up getting me a card and some flowers for my b-day. Then he cooked for me and made me margaritas. I'm so lucky to have him. My cousin adored him and told me he's a good guy.0 -

My weekend was pretty eventful, lol..
Friday night I drank with my roomie and her guy that she's talking to, then we went to a hole in the wall bar to drink and hang with some of my coworkers. Ended up getting home around midnight because we had to wake up early to go on a volunteer canoe trip.
Woke up Saturday around 6 hungover, so we started drinking.. ran out of beer about halfway through the canoe trip around 11, was not too happy about that, haha. Got home around 1, took a 5-hour nap, then went over to Sugar Lips place and we had a quiet Cinco de Mayo by ourselves. We finished off a bottle of Jose by ourselves, I may have made his drinks stronger than mine, and may have taken advantage of that.
Ended up spending the night, of course.. we woke up around 5 with the lights still on like "wtf" and opened the door to let his doggies come in. They took up half of the bed so forced us to squeeze on one half of a queen size bed together. ^___^
Sunday we kind of talked about being in a relationship/exclusive. We each talked about any doubts or fears we might have.. for me it was the fact that I don't want him to end up getting pissed that I go out with friends and such even if he doesn't want to, and for both of us it's the fact that he's leaving next February to get stationed elsewhere. We're not sure.
We didn't really establish anything, such as whether we're exclusive or not.. but we did go see Avengers later in the day and it was awesome!
Should I bring it up again? Honestly I don't know if I'm ready for a serious relationship.. but Saturday night when we were drunk, we were talking about the differences between two different words, and for an example (I actually don't remember what the words were, I was drunk, I just remember this part), he said "I would say that I like you a lot and I want you to be my girlfriend."
I think I just giggled and ate some more chips, salsa, and margarita.
Thoughts? What do I do?0 -

My barbie married GI Joe. lol. I wonder if that says something about me that my barbie refused to marry Ken.0 -
I used to "play" with rattlesnakes. Played at chopping their heads off, that is.0

Friday I drove down to Hattiesburg, MS and met up with my girlfriend, her daughter and my daughter. I was more nervous about our daughters meeting than I am about meeting her parents later this month.
Her daughter is going to Southern Miss in the fall, so she was going through an official tour and then I was planning on taking her on the unofficial tour. I asked my daughter to help show her around (and so she wouldn't feel like a third wheel). We had dinner (with a friend and his wife) and then drove out to a restaurant/bar and crashed another friend's 30 year reunions (she invited me to). We went back to the hotel, the girls crashed in their room and my girlfriend and I went to the hotel bar. There were a bunch of 65+ year olds (in town for a fraternity reunion), which turned out quite entertaining.
Saturday was a good tour of the city, driving from one end to the other and all around. We then went to the Avengers movie. We had a nice dinner and then my daughter took her daughter out to meet some of her friends. My girlfriend and I went back to the hotel bar and met some of the same folks from the night before (although the ones that had been partying hard on Friday were feeling it by Saturday and weren't nearly as lively). We saw the Super Moon and then called it a night.
I hated seeing her and her daughter drive off on Sunday morning. And driving in the opposite direction was painful.0 -

oo oo exciting! so happy your initiative was rewarded with fun emails ;-)
As for myself...
Friday, I went out with a guy from Match that I had drooled over during a focus group a couple months ago. We went to one of the classiest restaurants in town, which was a treat for me. I was a little nervous, because he was high-ranking on staff, but he assured me he was starting a new job off base soon so I relaxed and we had a great time. Only problem is, I found myself thinking of bodybuilder guy sometimes, so I'm not sure it would be fair to this guy to accept another date. OTOH, we did have a lot in common and bodybuilder guy is on the rebound so...sigh... I don't know...he's going out of town for work for a couple weeks so who knows, by then bodybuilder guy might not even be in the picture.
Sat, my son and I had fun at various activities and then we went swimming with bodybuilder guy (aka starbucks guy) and his kids. We had blast. It was great watching this hot guy play with his kids. Then, me and my girls went out for Cinco de Mayo and then did chick-flick movie night at my place.
Sunday was an elegant ladies program at church, catered by one of the premier chefs in Shreveport and with the men of the church serving us. Very nice.0
