Some much needed support!

Hi Everyone, I'm new to the group, my third attempt at MFP so let's hope this time i stick to it! Think that's where I am going to need you guys....
Got diagnosed 12months ago, on 100ng of levothyroxin daily, however still really struggling, docs running tests for Cushing's (i know this will be negative) and if so, the docs say nothing they can do as my level's now look fine.
So it's down to me to get this weight shifted through all the symptoms in time for my wedding, as my dress no longer fits:(
Please feel free to be-friend, could really do with some help from those who know what it feels like!

Welcome to the forum!! Not sure if you can get Natural dessicated thyroid in England -- you may want to check out stopthethyroidmadness.com -- saying there's "nothing more" he can do is just wrong. He can check your adrenals (cortisol) he can check your Ferritin/Iron levels - usually low if you have hypo. He can check your Vitamin D levels. He can check if you have Reverse T3. He can check your T3 levels to ensure that your thyroid is properly converting T4 to T3. When he said your levels are "low" he was talking about TSH -- which is a useless measurement of what's going on with your metabolism.

I know you don't have many options for healthcare in England, but read the website above and maybe join the Stop The Thyroid Madness Facebook group -- and see if you can get advice from someone in England.

Yes, you have to eat healthy, avoid sugar, avoid starches - try to give up gluten -- anything with wheat. Eat lots of veggies and fruit. Exercise -- these are all things you can do -- but if your metabolism is whacked, you need a doctor that will help you beyond checking your TSH levels.

You are very young and have time to turn this around -- don't wait!!

Hi there :) I feel for you! It's so frustrating! I coincidentally just had blood drawn this morning for my cushing's test as well. My endo doesn't think I have it either, but thinks I may have PCOS and they have to rule it out. I've been really struggling to lose weight and feel better and then I stumbled upon the most wonderful thing ever. I'm not trying to push product here or anything but it's a supplement called "Adrenal Support" and I found it on Amazon. It helps with adrenal fatigue. (I believe adrenal fatigue causes you to have too much cortisol in your body, which causes belly fat - someone correct me if I'm wrong here). But anyway - after one week of taking this stuff the scale FINALLY moved! FINALLY!! 3 lbs in one week and one inch from my belly. It's super cheap and worth a shot.
I've been reading around the forum and apparently Coconut Oil is supposed to be really good for us as well. I just had my first serving last night, so the jury is still out - looks alarmingly like Cristco, haha. Don't give up. Keep playing around with eliminating different foods - you might be having some food intolerance that is making it tough for your body to deflate.
