Congrats! You've made it to week 5 already! This week's super challenge, 5 fruit and vegetable servings a day. Because I'm getting this up late, we'll aim for only 4 out of 7 days this week.

Goals:
Water: 7/7
Food: 6/7
Strength: 30 minutes
Cardio: 60 minutes
F/V: 4/7

Sorry I'm a little slow on the uptake this week! I have been so busy!
-Both students working on an honor's thesis are done.
-Ran my 5k, record pace for me!
-Started the New Rules of Weight Lifting for Women yesterday. First workout was no problem. Probably went a little too light on the weights, but 15 reps is a ton of reps for me!
-Last week of classes for the school year this week, lots of wrap-up stuff going on.

I have some odd muscle pain going on, but I think it's from the race. The downhill to the finish line was the steepest I have run so far, so I think I might have over extended myself a bit too much!

It's okay Liz, your schedule looks very busy. :)

Can I just say I'm so jealous of everyone who finishes the school year this week. We don't finish until the first week of June... That's a whole another month to go!

BTW, this week I'm helping a friend move, so there's a lot of lifting-and/or-moving-heavy-objects-around going on. That counts as strength? I know it's a push, but I harbor a passionate dislike towards strength training :D

Martine - lifting up heavy objects, carrying them around, and putting them down counts as strength. Especially if it's outside of your normal routine! That's all strength training is, lift things up and put them down!

My body is unhappy with me today! Ow. At least I've lost the water weight I've been carrying since Monday! Today is day 2 of new rules of lifting for women. The first workout felt really short, but thinking about it, it wasn't any shorter than what I'd been doing! I just didn't run for 40 minutes first!

I'm on workout A4 tomorrow. NROL4W is changing my body. But, as a consequence, the scale is up 5 lbs. It drives me nuts. I can see biceps and feel muscles in my legs, but I hate the feeling that I am getting "fatter" I am waiting for the first month to be up to take my measurements. THAT'S where it's at but it's hard waiting :p I'm going to be doing B4 over the weekend and even still I think my weight for deadlifts might be light. What weights did you start with, I'm curious?

Hey Crystal! Nice to know I have a new rules buddy! I've been working on increasing weights before starting the program, so most of my weights are up there, for me. Rows I did 60lbs and almost a set at 70lbs. Squats I'm at 105lbs. I can only do wall pushups as of yet, but I'm going to try a harder variation next time. Step ups I did with body weight. Deadlifts I used 65lbs. Lat pulls were split between 60 and 70, couldn't do the full set at 70. Crunches and lunges were body weight only. And the shoulder press were 10lbs dumbbells, and that was too easy.
I'm feeling my workout today! Glad it's yoga class day. Need a good stretch!

Hope everyone is doing well. Only a little over a week to go!

Ok sweet. I'd been doing weights for about a month before I started this, and my numbers were pretty close to most of you's. The lat pulldown I'm on 70 and I just don't know if I will be upping it on the next step down in reps this time. 70 is wicked hard. It's def. changing my body but I'm bummed the weight hasn't changed much yet.

Ladies, any of you happen to live in hot climate? I need cheap workout suggestions!

I can't afford the gym at the moment, but it's becoming impossible outside. The other day I tried to run outside in the late afternoon, but it was still so hot, I couldn't breathe and I almost got an asthma attack, so I guess that's it for exercising outside until after summer. But I can't afford the gym right now either, so I really have no idea what to do...

It's quite decent outside in the early morning or evening (after dark), but not going to happen. The evening is the only time during the day that I can spend with my family and school starts at 7.30 so if I got up any earlier, I might as well just stop bothering to even go to bed.

I'm in NC. I don't know if that constitutes hot or not, but it has def. been a determent when I want to run at the park.
