Hi!
Newbie "runner"!
I just started Couch 2 5K. Today was the first day I tried it AND finish a session. I am not a runner though I am not in horrible shape. I go to karate 4 nights a week and do what I can otherwise. But running is not my thing. Even when skinny. But I have to learn to run to survive karate tests involving 1 mile + runs without ANY walking, on concrete (I am sure that seems nothing to most). I managed it the last 2 tests but very slow and ending in gasping tears. If I was not afraid of running before, I am now!
So my question, finally, is did anyone else have painful shins? Did breathing get easier? What "style" of running seems to work? I have yet to settle in on any comfortable gait. It all hurts or sucks up momentum. I would probably prefer the minimalist style running but my shins/back cannot take it on the concrete. My lovely Vibrams will stay with walking. Oh, and I carry my weight in the rear/legs if that helps for any suggestions. wink
Thanks for letting me whine with my questions haahaha! :blushing:
