Not lame at all. Most Mickey games were the *kitten* back in the day. Castle of Illusion, World of Illusion, the one where he goes through all the time periods. The Sega CD version had an awesome sound track.0

DJ Hero had some crazy remixes. I never played Gears. I was tired of buying Xboxes. After my second one, I said screw it. Shadow of the Colussus was fantastic as well. Speaking of Fez.... Lummies also had a good sound track. You don't hear too many sound tracks like the ones found in Streets of Rage. Good Ole Yuzo Koshiro. Does he still make game music btw?0 -

na na na na na na na na katamari damacy0 -
Just about any of the FF music. The Legacy of Kain/Soulreaver series had some great music.
Recent titles with great music include SWTOR, Journey (one could argue the music helps to make this such an evocative experience), and just this week I've found I really like the music in both Sorcery and Dragon's Dogma. I'm partial to sweeping orchestral pieces or acoustic arrangements; I've reached a point in life where hard-driving thrash-metal just isn't working for me more often than not.0 -

MGS did have some epic music. How can I forget Golden Sun. I remember just putting on my headphones for my GBA just to hear the music. I don't know if anyone ever played SpellCaster for the Sega Master System. For it's day, that was an awesome track. I guess I'm into the retro scene now a days. Blue Dragon also had a good soundtrack.0 -
I was surprised nobody said MGS or Golden Sun as well. I love listening to Isaacs theme/battle theme. and as far as killer instinct goes, Jago's theme is my fav.0
-
dont know if this counts, but Lego Indiana Jones has a great sound track... even though it was just taken from the films >_>0

I so want to. But I have the Collectors Edition 25th anniversary Music CD that came with the game and golden controller for Skyward Sword. They will never come around my way Also, Mario music, Mario 64 has some of my favorite. The first world music is addictive. And Bowsers levels are also wonderous.0 -
I hope the Joystiq drones don't bash me unfairly for this (just as the site did on the game itself), but my second-favorite game of all time is Nier, and the soundtrack played a huge role in my love of that game. If you like action-RPGs with amazing music, it's a must. I normally don't even like vocals in my game music, but the tracks in Nier that have it are heavenly. This is the only soundtrack for a game I've actually ever had to buy, it was that good. I'm sure you can find the game itself for ten bucks, and I can't recommend it more highly... Sorry if you played it and hated it, but I gambled on it and simply fell in love.
As others mentioned, the songs included in the Fallout games are also up there for me (not so much the actual music composed for the game, which sounds a lot like Oblivion and Skyrim music and feels out of place, but the actual songs from the time period).0 -
Skate or Die, intro song. On the Commodore 64. (nintendo wasn't nearly as good)0
