Once a cheater, always a cheater?

I think for the most part yes unless it was a one-time regretful mistake as stated above. I hate to say it but most guys (not all) I know have cheated and it seems to be more in their personality and who they are....not who the chick is.

The same can be said for women! Men aren't the only ones who cheat!

It happened to me long ago. I forgave her and it still happened again. Many years later her and I remained friends but I don't trust her with my heart. She has talked to me in the past about feelings of regret, being young, stupid, and wanting to get back together but I told her no. I can be her friend but I cannot trust her ever again with my heart.

I have seen friends and acquintances do the same thing to each other. I was even in a wedding of one couple that the girl was cheating on the fiancee before and during their marriage. They divorced, she got with the guy she was cheating with, and are still together to this day.

I think it's different for everyone. I don't believe once a cheater, always a cheater.

I lean towards once a cheater always a cheater but on the other hand I feel like generally there's a solid reason why someone gets distant and close to someone else who they end up cheating with. There are always those that are just scum and will nail anything that moves when they drink but I'd like to think those are easy to spot.

Same here! I actually know of more women than men who have cheated in their relationships. I also think that it's more common, from what I've seen, for women to have emotional affairs, but not consider it "cheating" because they aren't have a physical relationship with the other person. As someone who has been cheated on both physically and emotionally, the hardest for me to deal with was the emotional affairs.

Good to see that I'm not the only one to think that... People use "cheating" as is it was an unambiguous word, but truly it can mean so many different things for so many different people.
