A friend gave me a book this week called Our Lady of Weight Loss. It is by no means any disrespect to the Blessed Mother. I am a practicing Catholic but I am also Irish so we have a healthy sense of humor, especially in regards to our Faith. That being said, this book is absolutely hilarious. It is not a religious book. It is a fun and lighthearted approach to losing weight with great little craft ideas as well as tips on how to keep you focused. Being a craft nerd this was right up my alley. I particularly liked the suggestion of super gluing the lid shut on a jar of super chunky peanut butter in order to resist temptation.
If you get a chance check it out. I think you will really enjoy it!

Love it! Maybe you could post a little something from it every day?
And then people could respond with how well it worked for them or how they adapted it to thier living situation?
For example...
Gluing the lid shut on the peanut butter to avoid temptation works. But might I also recommend the following:
Even though cleanliness is next to Godliness, DO NOT clean your sticky stuff...such as syrup, honey, jelly, jam and the like.
First, it makes it more difficult to open so you burn more calories and build those muscles. Second, and this is especially true if you leave the items outside, the ants and bugs will go after it which will make it completely undesireable!
Also, have any of you heard of "The Toddler Diet?"
Breakfast as soon as you wake up a slice of toast spread thick with peanut butter and cut into bite sized pieces (at least a dozen) Put one bite in your mouth DO NOT SWOLLOW...chew it, roll it around...let it melt. With the other pieces on the plate spread your hands out and smash them into the plate and smear the peanut butter that sticks to your hands all over the table, and allow the toast to fall to the floor, or better yet, into the dogs or cats fur!
Then, when someone you love very much comes into the room, take the bite that you have been mushing around in your mouth and offer it to them before running around the coffee table as many times as you can as fast as you can and then after you fall, go to the couch cry for 35 seconds then jump on the couch for 10 minutes before running up and down the hallway.
Then eventually for a mid morning snack you crawl around the table looking for a few more pieces of toast to pop in you mouth. If they are covered in dust bunnies or pet fur, all the better for protein intake.
:-)
There is more, but this was a good start. ENJOY!0 -
