Do you guys use honey as a sweetener? I am curious as to whether or not it is considered primal/paleo. I would only buy it from a reputable, local source instead of from a grocery store. Just wanted some thoughts on this.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I use honey to sweeten my coffee (about 1-2 tsp.) -- It's raw local honey, and as long as I'm under my carb count, I have been doing fine with it, still losing weight, etc...0

Just watch out in case you are sensitive to fructose.
When I went fully paleo my stomach problems actually got worse. Upon investigating, I discovered FODMAPS and have eliminated many of the more irritating ones, rotate others that only bother me if I have them more than one day in a row, and am finally not bloated for the first time in years. It's such a relief.0 -
I have raw local honey on hand that i use from time to time...
You will find in a lot of the Paleo friendly desert type recipes they use honey as a sweetner so I do make sure I have some on hand.
Your best bet if you are going to use honey is to spend the money and buy local honey if you can find it.0 -
Personally prefer maple syrup, but use honey occasionally.0

Since I went Primal I don't enjoy the taste of honey like I used to (I love Trader Joe's raw honey, though I can't keep it in the house because once I start I can't control it. I don't think I will ever get rid of the "craving" for just a little bit more sweet).
I love Maple Syrup though. The darker the better!0
