How do you stretch your shin muscles?

My shins are starting to hurt me when I run but I am not going to stop. How is anyone else stretching to keep from hurting their shins?

I had the same problem when I started. Luckily it has resolved for the most part. I did a google search and found some running sites that showed different stretches. One I do all the time, even when I'm not working out is to have my feet flat on the floor and raise my toes, keeping my heels planted. It really has helped. Stretching is the key, before and after. Do a search and you'll find a bunch of different stretches. Good luck!0

^^ agreed! and for soreness, I have read that a great and inexpensive solution is to get a 18" to 24" section of 4.5" pvc pipe and roll on it -- actually lay your leg on the pipe and roll. It massages your leg/butt/back muscles and relieves the soreness.0
