Joint issues?

Does anyone that has done this program or is doing this program have any joint issues? I'd like to hear your stories if you do. I'm really itching to run (I've always wanted to, and would really like to finally start). However, not sure if it's the best choice for me. I'm in discussion with docs and such, but am curious to hear what people have done.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I am in the middle of week 2, and I have problems with my knees, specifically my left. I've been taking glucosamine chondroitin and since taking it I have not felt any substantial joint pain.0

I have a history of joint issues including a bout with JRA (Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis) in my middle school years. I am currently carrying too much weight to run due to how much stress it would put on my leg joints. I hope to eventually run but right now I speed walk the "run" sections of the program. I am really impressed with how well this works and it is just as tasking cardiovascular wise as running without the added joint stress. I have been faithful to to the program for over a month and a half even though I am re-running the earlier weeks after the program got to be a bit too tasking for me in week 4. Currently my treadmill settings are: incline 2.0, warmup, walking, and cooldown speed 2.5 to 2.7, and running speed 3.5 to 3.7.
I hope this helped0 -

It definitely does, thanks!! The condition I have is similar pain-wise to arthritis, so it's good to know that it can be done. My PT basically, in a nutshell, called me crazy when I asked his opinion. Granted, he only sees me when I'm flared up and injured, but I think with losing all this weight (I'm down 45lbs total from my heaviest so far), I may have a shot at it. I'm going to try! I like the speed walking idea, I just might try that.
Thank you both for your responses, they definitely are helpful and give me something to think about!0
