I really want a Hrm to calculate my calories burned..., how close are the calories set on mfp to what ur Hrm says?

Depends on the type of exercice for me...Sometimes MFP and HRM says about the same, sometimes they are really not equal. I trust my HRM anyway and cut some calories back. So when my HRM says 645 calories, I write down 600.

I just got mine Sunday and have only used it twice, but MFP (for me) seems to be WAY inflated! My yoga session on Sunday was 100 calories, and MFP would give me 120--not too horrible. My "circut training" session yesterday was 167 calories, and MFP would give me almost 300--YIKES!

Glad I have one now to more accurately track my calories burned!!!

mine is always different than MFP.. MFP seems to overestimate based on my experience.

MFP and other calorie burn calculators that I've used have all been WAAAAY higher than my HRM.

Someone mentioned Yoga~ I do Yoga too and MFP, etc was giving me 400 calories for an hour of Hatha. My actual is more like 200-230.....a HUGE difference!!
And for Zumba, I was given 700 cals for an hour and my actual was 300+, so there ya go.

    I got a Polar FT7 in September 2011 for $78 on Amazon.
