This article in yesterday's New York Times has a link to a calculator created by mathematicians with the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases to determine your caloric intake for weight loss. I just plugged in all my info and it gave me the EXACT same recommendation as the one I got by following the instructions on the EMTWL group page. Pretty cool, and a good read.

I also got a similar number (off by like 50, but that's nothing).

Really good read, thanks for the share :)

Bump...It's a good read but found the simulator a little confusing. Numbers look pretty similar except the estimated activity level put me in the active range ie 1.7 and I have been using 1.5.

It is so cool! I thought those numbers must be wack! But now I am eating so much more and finally feeling satisfied. Hooray for realistic weight loss.
