Hi. I am currently reading New Rules of Weight-loss for Women (going to read it through to the end even though I could do without all the swearing & his condescending attitude).
I would like to purchase some weights for my home & was wondering for those of you who have a home gym what type of weights do you own? What would you advice a newbie to get started in weight lifting? Thanks for your help.

We have a set of dumbbells. The only issue I have is our current set only goes to 50 lbs. I'm already lifting 25 lb and my husband has surpassed 50 lb. I kind of wonder if free weights and barbell will be our next purchase. Of course my husband and I both also work out at our local rec center so probably not.
I have no idea what brand though.0
