Can you tell me what I should do?

Okay I am starting Stage 4 on Monday. I lift as heavy as I can for the amount of reps specified. I have yet to be sore after a workout. Not even a good sore. I am not new to lifting but I am to heavy lifting. When I was doing the Supreme90 program or Bob Harpers strength DVDs I would have an awesome sore (not hurting but the sore you like after a good workout) the next day or two. Should I discontinue with NROL4W? I told my husband about it and he said he would give me a good program that he guarantees I will be sore but when i start a program I always like to finish it. He thinks I'm not really be nefiting unless I get that "good" sore, not sure if thats true or not. I know you might tell me to lift more weight but I am already lifting as much as I can for thosxe reps. Example Stage 3 you do 3 sets of 6 reps. Should I do a lot heavier and even less reps?

Are you getting stronger on NROL4W? Are you losing weight? If neither of these things are happening, it's probably not the program for you. Maybe you are just not increasing your weight enough. If you stick with the program, try increasing your weights faster and then maybe you'll be sore.
Another thing to consider is form. Even though you've lifted in the past it's helpful to revisit it every few years with a trainer to make sure you haven't developed any bad habits. S slight tweak in form can mean you aren't' even hitting the right muscle groups, and you won't be sore.
I understand not wanting to give up on something you've already been working at for so long, but if it's not giving you the results it probably is time to switch things up.0 -

Cant tell if I'm getting any stronger actually and I guarantee I'm not losing. I have gained 8 lbs and 6-8" (like 4-5 places measured 1.5" gain) Posted about this the other day and I was recommended to eat TDEE for awhile.0 -
So, when you said you have gained, they recommended you eat your TDEE without a cut???? I am sure that can be the right thing, but BOY OH BOY, would that be hard to do mentally!!!!!!!
Tell me again, how many weeks you've been consistently doing this? I am JUST starting (as I think you know), but I know the book is all about higher weights, right? I can't believe you've never been sore...I agree, I will really need that as I go along to believe I'm doing a great thing...not "I can't walk" sore, but the "I can tell I worked out" sore
My work out partner, Terrie, just started alternating the activities....like doing dumbell rows and then russian jack knife, dumbell row, russian jack knife, and she said she was whipped when she was done. You know, instead of doing all the reps of the same activity at the same time...have you done that already? Maybe that would help???
Also, do you work out at the gym or at home? I know I plan to keep at least one class in with my weight routine, cause those ALWAYS made me sore/really exert...and, I also plan to do a short jog (15 min) after each weight lift...have you tried that ?
I'm only dropping my 2 cents...I'm sure I didn't suggest anything new, but I know with your diligence, that those 8 lbs. ARE going to come off...I just KNOW it! I say stick with it, up your weights if you can, add a little cardio at the end and pray...."...the Lord upholds the rightous." Psalm 37:17b :flowerforyou:0 -

It is tough mentally but I'm trying not to weigh myself and this eating at TDEE is supposed to reset my metabolism. So its worth trying. I shouldnt gain anymore if I'm eating what I'm burning. I want that good sore and I'm just not getting it. I have upped my weights and always think okay now I'll have that sore and I dont. I'm going to review the youtube clips again and see if maybe I'm not doing something right. But even so with bad form some muscle should be sore...lol. I do cardio on nonlifting days sometimes HIIT and sometimes just walking at 4 mph. Just whatever I feel like as I have alot of DVDs. Oh and I do everything at home not a gym. I have a fitbit so I always try to make my goals it has for me like 10,000 steps, 4-5 miles, 20 flights of stairs, etc.. I also walk a little on lifting days.
Maybe I'll take next week off NROL and do a few supreme90 DVDs which I loved before and then try stage 4 the following week. I dunno but maybe that will be my plan.0 -

That sounds like a great idea! I am sure a week, shaking it up a bit, will be awesome...both for you mind and your body! Let me know how that goes!
What DVD's do you have? I belong to a gym and have a friend to go with, but like, today, there was NO way I could make it to the gym and I would have loved to have something here I could have done for even 30 minutes...let me know what you use0 -
Would anyone jump to stage 6 or 7?0

Are you lifting to failure? I used to never be sore from exercise and I have days I can barely move after doing NR.0
